oprano’s and Absolute Underground are hosting their first annual Battle of the Bands starting April.8th, 2012. This year’s prizes will be 15 hours recording time in the Soma Studio with Eric Hogg and 100 copies of your bands own jewel cased CD, paid gigs at Soprano’s, and most of all, bragging rights. Up to $5000 in cash and prizes to be won. It is free to enter and no demo is required.
We will be accepting entry forms now until May.13th, 2012.

To qualify your band must:
-All be 19 or older.
-Have at least 2 members.
- Live on Vancouver Island.
-Provide name, phone number, and e-mail.
-Submit an input list with entry form by May.7th, 2012 to [email protected] .
Dates will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Please cross off any dates your band can’t play and number the rest in the order you would like to play. You will be expected to play a 20 minute set. Dates are all Sundays and listed on the entry form. You must have availability for at least 2 of the dates listed, although you will only be required to play one. Bands may not play more than 1 cover songs during your first set.
All bands must be able to play the second round and finals at Soprano’s if needed. Bands from each of the first 4 nights will return to play the semi-finals. Second round sets are 40 minutes in length. Bands may not play more than 1 cover songs during this round.
Finals will be held in Soprano’s on Sunday June.24th, 2012. The winner of each second round night will compete in the finals.
The band voted by the crowd to be the best of the night will advance to the next round. Winners will be announced the day after they play on Soprano’s Karaoke facebook fan page. Keep in mind, the more people bands get to attend, the more votes they will be able to acquire.
1st Place $1000 cash, 100 jewel cased CD’s, You band on the Absolute Underground label, 15 hours of recording time and one paid gig of $500+ at Soprano’s.
2nd Place $500 cash and one paid gig of $500+ at Soprano’s.
