After exploding onto the scene in the early 90s, I Mother Earth (IME) has solidified their place as one of Canada's most iconic rock bands. Formed by brothers Christian and Jag Tanna, the band emerged from Toronto’s vibrant club circuit, quickly making waves with their unique blend of psychedelic rock and alternative sounds.

What began as basement jam sessions after school and on weekends would soon become something much bigger. Relocating to Toronto post-high school, the Tanna brothers joined forces with vocalist Edwin, and after just 10 live performances, IME inked a landmark deal with Capitol Records USA. Their debut album Dig went platinum, while their sophomore effort Scenery and Fish achieved triple-platinum status, producing hit singles like “Rain Will Fall,” “Not Quite Sonic,” “One More Astronaut,” and “Used to Be Alright.”

In the late 90s, at the peak of their career, the band parted ways with Edwin and introduced Brian Byrne as their new frontman. With Byrne, IME continued their success, releasing Blue Green Orange and The Quicksilver Meat Dream, and maintaining their reputation as a must-see live act. However, in 2004, the band decided to step away from the spotlight, taking an eight-year hiatus.

In 2012, IME returned with a bang, releasing the single "We Got The Love," which soared into the Top 10 and signaled the band's triumphant comeback. The sold-out shows that followed at Toronto's Sound Academy proved that I Mother Earth’s legacy was far from over.

In 2016, the band's original vocalist Edwin reunited with the Tanna brothers for a 25th-anniversary tour of Scenery and Fish, bringing the band full circle. The reunion reignited IME’s energy and they’ve been going strong ever since, continuing to deliver high-octane performances packed with classic hits and fan-favorite jams.

I Mother Earth remains a force on stage, celebrating over two decades of genre-defying music that has captivated audiences worldwide. Fans can expect more tour dates and new music as IME’s journey continues—proving that their story is far from finished.
