Jim Houston is immersed in both the performance and the history of early acoustic Jazz & Blues. Travelling through the depth of this inherently rich and rhythmic music, Jim blends a century of musical Jazz & Blues with alacrity into original compositions while visiting the songs of progenitors with roots in the MIssissippi Delta, New Orleans and the travelling musicians of the 1920s & 1930s. Backed by acoustic & resonator guitars, bottleneck slide, tenor banjo, ukulele and harmonica, Jim performs a large repertoire sung & played with depth, incendiary passion and a semi-arid sense of humour.
