"Started out playing blues guitar with 3 Viet Nam war draft dodgers from L.A. Bob Lesher, Michael Balfe, and Bill Burdick. Moved through various incarnations of Bayside Blues, and Blues Union adding Ken Preston, Ric Whitman, and Ian Harris to the mix. Blues Union was just reaching it's peak as house band at the Purple Onion. I remember line ups around the building to get in on weekends and jammed packed houses raising their hands in the air simultaneously to John Lee Hooker's "Boogie Chillen" at the end of the night. Parted ways with Bob Lesher(although we still have a strong friendship currently) and moved away from the blues into UK rock and originals with Showdown and Riff Raff. Played all the venues everyone was playing at the time...Harpos, Club Tango, Purple Onion, Brown Jug, Joker's Club, Sub Pub, Mother's etc. etc. before drugs and egos took over."
