. Saturday, October 22nd IMU presents The GRIZZ, SIX GUN ROMEO & WELKIN @ The Fairview, 898 West Broadway . Doors 8pm / Cover $10 . Purchase advance tickets online @ http://www.imuproductions.com/tix
The GRIZZ sprang to life from the ashes of a cancelled jam session of another Vancouver band, The Sicks. With a penchant for getting really high and embarking on mind-expanding space jams, the power trio has been hard at work writing material, honing their sound and getting ready to rock. They've also recently made the decision to be really loud. http://www.myspace.com/thegrizzband
SIX GUN ROMEO is a melting pot of riffs, beats, runs and melodies taking many different styles of music as their influences. From the legend of Johnny Cash to the totally hot sensation of Imelda May, the band's sole aim is to get you off your butt and to throw some incredible shapes on the dance floor. http://www.myspace.com/sixgunromeo
WELKIN - Magical, bleak and beautiful, the music of Welkin is fearless, feral, ethereal and epic in proportion. "These songs unwind slowly, melding down-in-the-canyon country-rock with ethereal space-prog in a way that brings to mind Neil Young fronting Pink Floyd" -- The Georgia Straight . http://www.welkinband.com
