World-traveler, collaborator, under-dog and hard-working man, Shotgun Jimmie stakes his claim for the hearts and minds of millions with his Polaris Prize long-listed release Transistor Sister (You’ve Changed Records). He recently appeared on John K. Samson’s 2012 release Provincial (Epitaph/ANTI) and toured across North America and Europe as Samson’s lead guitarist and opening act. Jimmie’s one-man-band has been an audience favourite at numerous festivals including Slovakia’s Pohoda, Pop Montreal, Halifax Pop Explosion, Sappyfest, Sled Island, Regina Folk Festival, Dawson City Music Festival, NXNE and Canadian Music Week. In addition to a nearly non-stop touring schedule, he has released three critically-acclaimed albums since 2007, as well as split releases with Joel Plaskett, Ladyhawk, and Attack in Black. His back-up band is a revolving cast featuring many of Canada’s premiere musicians, who have also played with Feist, DoMakeSayThink, Constantines, Ladyhawk, and City and Colour. Look for Shotgun Jimmie’s fourth solo album Everything, everything (You’ve Changed Records) in spring of 2013.
