The Adam Dzbik Quartet is an ambitious up and coming modern jazz group from Nanaimo, British Columbia. Their goal is to explore beyond the older generation of jazz, while staying true to it’s traditions and melodicism. The group consists of highly talented and driven newcomers to the Vancouver Island Jazz scene including: Caleb Borsboom on tenor sax, who is about to begin his jazz studies at Humber College in Ontario; Darin Nicole on bass, who is starting his fourth year of jazz studies at Vancouver Island University; Rachel Skeeles on drums, who is beginning her third year studying music at Vancouver Island University; and Adam Dzbik on guitar, who has just completed a bachelor degree in jazz performance at Vancouver Island University. The group will be playing originals and arrangements by Adam Dzbik, as well as tunes by Chick Corea, and John Coltrane."
