Award winning, Grammy Nominated mandolin player, singer/songwriter Jesse Cobb brings his Bluegrass and roots influenced sound to The Northern Quarter.
Join us to celebrate the launch of his new album, Another Road. Recorded in 2015 the album brings together Canadian roots artists Suzie Vinnick, Mark Lalama, and Kevin Breit with some of bluegrass' most inventive and soulful voices in Randy Kohrs, Ryan Cavanaugh, and Tim Crouch. With a rhythm section of bassist Rich Moore and drummers, Jorn Anderson and Lyle Molzan the influences run the gamut from Bill Monroe to Alice Cooper.
This is Jesse's first full band album of original songs since parting from The Infamous Stringdusters in 2011. Since that time and in between touring with The Gibson Brothers; Pikelney, Bales, Sutton,Bulla and Cobb; and Bela Flecks' New York Banjo Summit, he has written and arranged this new material and reimagined a unique sound living in both his old-time/bluegrass roots and influences from various other genres.
The $20 admission cost includes a copy of the new album and a live rendering with some of Victoria's finest roots players
