Meridiem Wind Orchestra is made up of a mosaic of top-notch amateur and professional woodwind, brass, and percussion players from the Greater Victoria region. The music they perform takes full advantage of the wind ensemble’s unique timbres and expressive capabilities, providing a listening experience like no other.
In this program, folk songs from Newfoundland and Quebec, as well as Cowboy songs from Alberta meander throughout the program, while compositions by Elizabeth Raum and Cait Nishimura conjure images of early Saskatchewan and Ontario in the fall. Rounding out the program is the stunning 3rd Symphony: Quebec Mosaic by Robert Buckley, which takes the listener through each of the 4 seasons. The works that are found on this program are just like mosaic tiles, beautiful on their own, but stunning when they come together into a work of art.
