Originally from Victoria BC, Josh Warren is a bassist, composer, arranger, and musical director based in Toronto. While rooted in the jazz tradition, Josh plays and records in a variety of styles - spanning swinging straight-ahead jazz to high-energy pop, rock, and soul.

Since moving to Toronto to study with Canada’s finest, he’s shared the stage and recorded with a plethora of Grammy-nominated and JUNO award-winning musicians (including Ingrid Jensen, Jeremy Ledbetter, Rich Brown, Allison Au, and Joaquin Nunez). He’s also performed all across the country, playing at iconic Canadian venues and making appearances at major festivals such as the TD International Jazzfest, the Next Generation Jazz Festival, the Sudbury Jazz Festival, the TU Jazzfest, and Victoria’s nationally-renowned Symphony Splash.

Most recently, Josh has garnered accolades such as the John McLaughlin award for bass performance and Jazz Sudbury’s Emerging Artist award, and is currently working towards releasing his debut album “The Path” in August 2026.

Back in town for one night only and accompanied by some of the best musicians on the west coast, Josh is thrilled to present a night of high-energy music - spanning original material by members of the band, as well as music by Kenny Garrett, John Scofield, Pat Metheny and more.
