ICONS The Band - Veterans of Rock

Edited live performance video for promotion of ICONS, the band, a new supergroup consisting of Tony Valentino from The Standells, Richard Moore from The Troggs, Michael Lewis from Quicksilver Messenger Service, Terry Rangno from We Five and L.A. session drummer Duane Waider.

L.A. Rock'n'Roll and the British Invasion come together in this hot new act.

Tony Valentino is the original lead guitarist/vocalist for The Standells, often called the godfathers of garage-punk. Their songs "Dirty Water", "Riot On Sunset Strip", "Sometimes Good Guys Dont Wear White" and "Why Pick On Me" were Top 40 hits in the 60s. The Standells got their start in Hollywood at "Peppermint West" and became frequent guests on television shows like American Bandstand, Where The Action Is, The Munsters, The Mike Douglas Show, Hullabaloo, Shindig and Hollywood Palace. The band toured with The Rolling Stones, was featured in the 1960s film "Get Yourself a College Girl" and Tony penned the theme song for the movie "Riot On Sunset Strip". The song "Dirty Water" was also featured in the movie Fever Pitch. In 2004 and 2007, The Boston Red Sox and their fans adopted "Dirty Water" as the team's victory anthem during its historic World Series Championships.

Canadian born Richard Moore toured and recorded with The Troggs and composed several of their album hits of the late 60s and early 70s. The British Invasion groups biggest hits were the #1 million selling rock'n'roll classic "Wild Thing", the million selling "Love Is All Around", "With A Girl Like You" and "I Cant Control Myself". Richard toured with some of the greatest 1960s bands of all time including The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

W. Michael Lewis has been a fixture in the LA music scene as a performer, producer, and arranger. He joined Quicksilver Messenger Service as keyboard player in 1972 replacing Nicky Hopkins and co-produced three of their albums. Acid rock outlaws from San Francisco, Quicksilver got their start at The Fillmore West, headlined many festivals and helped pioneer FM radio with hits like "Pride Of Man", "Fresh Air", "What About Me" and "Mona". Michael can often be seen on PBS as Musical Director/Keyboardist for The Diamonds and The Four Preps. He has composed numerous television and movie scores including In Search Of..., Barbara Walters, Cops, Enter The Ninja, New Years Evil and Hot Child In The City.

Terry Rangno started as a child actor in movies such as The Long Hot Summer, with Paul Newman and Orson Welles, Anything Goes, starring Bing Crosby and Donald OConnor, and TV shows such as Maverick, Cheyenne, and 77 Sunset Strip. Terry was bass player and a lead singer of We Five. Their national #1 million seller "You Were On My Mind" became the signature song for We Five in 1965. Terry's studio credits include Phil Spector, War, Dionne Warwick, Weather Report, Graham Nash, Steven Stills and Little Richard.

Duane Waider, one of L.A.s most dependable and experienced session drummers rounds out ICONS. Duane started playing the drums at age 3 and at age 5 formed a talent show winning child prodigy band "Duane & The Redcoats" that appeared on national TV, radio, and toured with The Turtles, Iron Butterfly, Hermans Hermits and The Five Americans. In 1984, Duane started working as a session player for Marvin Gaye, Johnny Winter, Cher, Deep Purple and Billy Idol.
