'Forest Thing' is the debut EP by Nü Clarion. Based on a phonetic mispronunciation of the Danish word 'Forestilling', meaning 'conception', The EP aims to present a wide range of textures and emotions as an introduction to the artist. It begins with an atmospheric and haunting cacophony of layered acoustic guitars in 'Found Wanting', which blooms into a triumphant crescendo before pulling back to the more intimate 'Talking_Past'. This tune is a sonic conversation, aiming to capture the dissonance of two parties who can't seem to find themselves on the same page. Finally, "ünHappy Issue" brings the EP home, with Nü Clarion's signature stacked vocals and swirling instrumentation leading to a soaring outro guitar section, before ending with the punctuated reverse-vocal stack that bookends the song. This EP really marks the first instance of Nü Clarion finding themselves musically, and sets the tone for much more exploration to come.
