It was 2022, the end of a period of isolation during the pandemic. Everyone was itching for a live show. Lo and behold a hero emerged: KPP Concerts had assembled a killer lineup of hard rock acts featuring Cancer Bats, A Wilhelm Scream, and hailing from Winnipeg, Comeback Kid.
Packed with an energetic, moshing crowd, that night at The Mansion is one every attendee will surely remember. So, it's not surprising the amount of pent-up anticipation awaiting Comeback Kid's return to Kingston for a headlining show at The Broom Factory on March 25, supported by bands Spy and Prowl. (

Although a Canadian act, Comeback Kid spends much time touring Europe and the U.S. “We don’t get to tour Canada very often. We just love being able to play our own country, and every show feels like a hometown show because either someone’s lived there or you’ve got families coming out,” explained Comeback Kid vocalist, Andrew Neufeld. “You get a taste of home in many of the shows we play in Canada.”
Pushing their own boundaries, fans of Comeback Kid immerse themselves in the band's intimate and interactive performances… in a hot, sweaty, metal show capacity, that is.
“At least I can say I gave it my all,” said Neufeld. And on March 25 at The Broom Factory in Kingston, Comeback Kid absolutely did.
From start to finish, the crowd clung to every moment as the intensity rose during the set.
“The sound here is incredible," remarked Neufeld. "It’s super crispy.” As to why Comeback Kid has come back to Kingston, Neufeld said, “The Kingston crowd is not only fans of the bands that are playing, but they also kind of just want to see live music – and those are some of the best crowds to play in front of, because they’re just a bit more unhinged.”
Unhinged is an apt description for their March 25 performance at The Broom Factory. It’s safe to say that Comeback Kid will, at some point in the future, return to Kingston, where they're sure to find a welcoming audience who haven't forgotten their past visits.
