The Ramblin' Ambassadors were formed on a dare when a local promoter challenged guitarist Brent J. Cooper (of surf-punkers Huevos Rancheros) to fill an upcoming opening slot. Brent recruited bassist Scott Nickless and drummer Tyler Pickering to complete the line-up. Within a few weeks, the Ambassadors were playing with the Supersuckers, Big Sandy and his Fly-Rite Boys, and began preparing for an album. With the implosion of Huevos, the RAs filled the gap left for an instumental rock and roll band. Mint Records released the trio's critically acclaimed "Avanti" in 2003. Last to join was "Gentleman" Doug Waite. Having played with Brent in 80's surf-a-billy combo "Bitchin' Hayride" his return from the surf-soaked west coast was welcomed with a spot in the band. The Ramblin' Ambassadors have just completed recording their newest album: "Vista Cruiser/Country Squire" with longtime pal and producer/engineer Russell Broom. Recorded in their rehearsal studio (mostly live off the floor), the album is a fun-filled, high octane run through a dozen songs with the band. The album's release on Mint Records is T.B.A.
