Michel Donato Trio feat. Marin Nasturica and Jon Gearey

The formidable Montreal bassist Michel Donato is one of our country’s great gifts to jazz, a powerful bassist with a highly percussive style, and a master of texture and time. Throughout his distinguished career, he has performed with stars such as Bill Evans, Paul Bley, and Oscar Peterson. Romanian-born and Montreal-based, the internationally acclaimed accordionist Marin Nasturica began playing his instrument at the age of four and is at home in folk, classical, and jazz situations. The wonderfully sympathetic and intuitive Montreal guitarist Jon Gearey rounds out this energetic and lovely trio.
