About

Barnaby Jones

since circa 2008
Its always tricky to summarize something that is the sum of so many parts and influences. Barnaby Jones' Lead Vocalist/Guitarist Dan Ross loves taking on the challenge of writing pop music the way that he wants to hear it. Taking the lead from greats such as Foo Fighters, Incubus and Red Hot Chili Peppers and infusing his more eclectic influences like Radiohead, Hawksley Workman and Bjork, he's managed to craft a uniquely accessable sound that has attracted some of the best talent in town, Drummer Brendan McLean, guitarist Patrick Barnett, Bassist Andrew Newton and horn player and keyboardist Chad Taylor to join the team and push the music forward. From hard rock, to funk, to lush trippy soundscapes, these fellas aren't afraid to tread on many paths, yet manage to maintain a vibe that ties it all together and always leaves the door open for more. Having just released their debut full length 'Villain You In' to an overwhelmingly positive response, the guys in Barnaby Jones are rehearsing material for a follow up to begin production this summer and taking on as many gigs as possible to spread the word, the vibe and the music.
