Together since August '99, Montreal's The Frenetics have been hitting clubs, halls and bars across North America with their mix of 70's British punk and 90's American indie rock. They have shared the stage with such acts as The Weakerthans, The Delta 72, Les Sexareenos, Ted Leo & The Pharmasists, The Planet Smashers, Choke, Caffeine, The Datsons, Sixty Stories, Les Sequelles, Operation Makeout, Moneen, Vulgair Machins and many others. Their current line-up includes Malcolm Bauld (guitar/voice), Alex Seliger (bass) and Anne Gauthier (drums).
The Frenetics were approached by local label Grenadine Records after their first show at Cafe Chaos, in Montreal. This resulted in "Scenery E.P." (GREN 003) which earned the band local and national attention, remaining on Canada's Nation Campus Chart for three consecutive weeks.
After touring extensively across Canada and the U.S., The Frenetics are continuing to promote their most recent full length "These Mistakes Took Years of Practice", which was released on the Union Label Group (Montreal) in August 2001. These Mistakes has garnered many positive reviews, and received considerable radio airplay. It also earned the band a best punk group nomination at the 2001 Mimi Music Awards (Montreals version of the Grammys). The band has completed two videos for the songs Rooftops and Something To Risk which both went into rotation on Much Music and Musique Plus (Quebec).
