In 1994, Harris & The Hotheads (featuring Harris Gilmore) were regular jam hosts at Hermann's Blues Jam. Dave Harris was a regular attendee and when Harris left, Dave stepped in and the band shortened it's name to The Hotheads. The name was somewhat apt as both Dave Harris and lead guitarist Newman Corey had fiery personalities which eventually led to the group's demise a year later. The band was noted for Newman's British blues interpretations and Dave's original material. Bassist Bob Miron and drummer Gary Thompson carried on with Dave to form Slim & The Dusters.
