Tony Wilson 6tet

A major force in our city’s creative music community, bandleader Tony Wilson is unquestionably one of the most original guitar stylists on the Canadian scene. His compositions tap into the whole history of jazz and blues and can shift from a moaning style to hard-core combustion. Wilson leads two different six-piece groups in this Festival. The 6tet is an aggregation of some of the leading young voices of our city’s creative music community—J.P. Carter trumpet/electronics, Masa J. Anzai alto sax, Jesse Zubot violin, Russell Sholberg bass, Skye Brooks drums.
