The brooding acoustic numbers grace listeners gently and harshly with immediacy as well as restraint, forcing them out of their comfort zones and into an entire new genre. With recent recording with Jerk With a Bomb, Blood Meridian appears to be position to capture the hearts and ears of many. Often quiet, mellow, somber, morose, atmospheric. Sometimes folky, sometimes country, always heavy on the rhythms.
==========
It was only a matter of time. long time compadres matt camirand, kevin grant, jeffry lee and david paterson saw the gap in their respective musical schedules and formed blood meridian. matt wrote a bunch of quiet, sorta dark/morose songs and recorded them on his 4-track while touring with the black halos. that band ended, kevin's rockabillly outfit the lowbrows also ended leaving him (kevin) time to play bass in the newly formed blood meridian. dave and jeff divided their time between alarmbell and black rice (respectively). dave playing drums and jeff playing guitar, rounding out the line-up for blood meridian. fueled by a morose view of everything as well as booze, they wrote some songs; played some shows; and recorded a demo with jerk with a bomber steve mcbean at the argyle hotel. n0v 2003, shira blustein joined the band playing the piano and keyboards.
