The Soo Music Project is a community-driven, living archive of Sault Ste Marie's musicical history . It is an open, citizen-lead tool to help artists, arts organizations and everyday music lovers learn about the Sault's Vibrant and ever changing music scene, past and present.
Spearheaded by independent journalist Shaun Antler, who spent 2 years collecting stories and information from local musicians and the bands they played in, her notes and spreadsheets have now been uploaded for public access, so that multi-media additions such as audio recordings, photos, and media Articles can be added when available.
We thank our partners in these efforts who have been so important during this preliminary collection of information. Our database currently contains profiles for 1765 local bands and 85 local musicians.
