Event Description

Joyous trumpet fanfares, carols both traditional and contemporary, and a multi-generational celebration of community singing - they're all part of Christmas with the Victoria Philharmonic Choir.
On Sunday, December 14 at 2.30 pm, singers from all over the Island are invited to join us in the beautiful chapel at Shawnigan Lake School, where Peter Butterfield will conduct community choristers, the 70-voice VPC and members of the Civic Orchestra of Victoria in Handel's own arrangement of Messiah. The performance features twelve soloists: some at the beginning of their careers, and some established professionals, including mezzo-soprano Kathryn Whitney and baritone Andrew Greenwood. (poster attached). Bring your score if you have one; limited number available to borrow at the performance. Non singers are welcome too!
