Event Description

OFFERINGS/OFFRANDES is a collaborative multimedia installation exploring the meaning of gifting and offering. It provides an opportunity for artists and community members to collaborate and create a unique artwork that is continually evolving.

The artwork is grounded in collaborative authorship and relational aesthetics. It incites the presentation and interpretation of practices rooted in different cultures. The installation is space based and seeks to establish a connection to the specific land/territory it is presented on, and the people that inhabits it - Indigenous and non-Indigenous. For the Victoria iteration, multidisciplinary artist and Aboriginal curator-in-residence France Trépanier has invited artists Charles Campbell, Cathi Charles Wherry, Krystal Cook, Bradley Dick and Farheen Haq to contribute performative rituals of offerings.
