Event Description

The New Cool is a Victoria BC based jazz fusion band formed in 2019 and led by bassist Steve Duben. Featuring two outstanding guitarists Cliff Maddix and Neil Taylor paired with an effervescent rhythm section, this quartet plays an eclectic mix of material by contemporary artists including the Fearless Flyers, Steve Gadd Band and Robben Ford along with original compositions by group members. Running the gamut of jazz fusion, The New Cool’s sounds touch on funk, blues, rock, latin and jazz, offering a fresh and contemporary take on jazz for the Vancouver Island music scene
