Event Description

Blues in the City! Join Auntie Kate and the Uncles of Funk & RATTLESHAKE to welcome summer with hot hometown bands, cool drinks and warm friends.
Nothing says summer like sunshine, and nothing says party like a night of blues. RATTLESHAKE and Auntie Kate and the Uncles of Funk will take the Wicket Hall stage on June 22 for a solstice party we can't wait to start!

Auntie Katie and the Uncles – Tom Bowler, Bill Underwood and Joe Kovacs – stir up a hot swirl of blues, R&B, soul and funk. When Kate takes the stage, it’s a call to order and Kate is delivering!

RATTLESHAKE is a fresh blues/roots band based in Victoria, BC, showcasing a fusion of traditional blues and modern flair. Starting with some well-loved and well-known songs by Tom Petty, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Cockburn, Stevie Wonder, JJ Cale and more, they add some RATTLESHAKE sauce to create their own arrangements of classic tunes. Always with a nod to the blues and roots music in general, RATTLESHAKE aims to move you to the dance floor where you can RATTLE and SHAKE the night away!
