If the idea of folk music played by a top jazz guitarist grabs you, better check out Duane Andrews, one of Newfoundland’s best musicians. Long interested in guitar legend Django Reinhardt, Andrews brilliantly fused that “gypsy” sensibility with Newfoundland roots music. Now with three CDs and numerous awards, Andrews has an eclectic breadth of interests and incredible technique – which is probably why he has played with everyone from jazzman Mike Murley and folk icon Ken Whitely to the Chieftains.
