About

We Need Surgery

Label: unsigned
since circa 2007
WE NEED SURGERY is a band formed in South Korea. Since early 2007 the band played the Asian live circuit based in Seoul, where it had a major impact on the local Indie music scene. The band was one of garageband.com's highest-rated bands in 2008. In addition to becoming one of the most popular live bands in Korea, We Need Surgery spawned and encouraged many Korean bands and musicians who have started to play the band’s brand of "retro dance punk".
WE NEED SURGERY has gained a lot of attention and recognition appearing in some of Seoul's major music magazines, radio shows and television. WE NEED SURGERY has also shared the same stage with some major acts such as Jens Lekman, Lasse Lindh, Melt Banana, Melt Banana and King Khan and BBQ Show. The band also played top music festivals in Asia.
In 2010, the band was fortunate to persuade Lim Jung Gyu, front man of seminal Korean indie-punk band Mineri, to become a full time member of the band, and the band was selected as one of the only foreign bands ever to play the major Seoul Time to Rock Festival.
We Need Surgery recently relocated to Vancouver BC where it will kick off a string of shows and hopefully a tour of North America soon to follow.
