Now, by looking at the list of members and the timeline during which each was in the band, one would assume this was a jazz big band of sorts... but it wasn't. It was designed to me a medium sized jazz ensemble of aproximately 12 personel. High school kids are flakey, so the the member roster changed about twice per week.
The band was formed by Troy Lucas in the fall of 2008, and named by Robert Vadebonceour... just some guy we they knew. The band started playing jazz, but then moved in a more funky direction resulting in the departure of purist Nick Seiber. In June of 2009 onewaystreet played their biggest show, to an arena of approximaltely 4,000 fans. Despite troubles with the audio equipment, the show went on, and later that night the band went on a huge party cruise where they began inhaling things they probably shouldn't have. The band went on Hiatus after a show on July 4th, 2009.
The band reunited for a single gig in December of 2009, never to be seen in the same format again.
In May of 2010, two members of the band attempted to get a new lineup with hopes getting the band performing again. After several rehearsals all other members of the band departed, coincidentally all deciding to do so within a 30 minute period.
The final phase of onewaystreet occured when the two remaining members of the band were enlisted to back twelve-year-old vocalist, Bekka. This lineup lasted a matter of weeks, and the band officially broke up in July of 2010.
Only two of a total of 25 members stayed with the band through it's entire history of less than two years: Troy Lucas, and Carson Fry, two students at Vancouver Island University who are now fronting a successful funk/rock band with a much more steady lineup.
Below is a list of Artists and Resources in the database. We have worked hard to collect as many individuals and bands as possible, though we are certainly aware that this list is incomplete.
